Series of 14 programmes all featuring Irish acts with a focus on new talent in what was then a burgeoning domestic scene. Each episode was filmed in the unique surroundings of the Waterfront Café in Dublin city and was presented by stars from Alan Parker’s seminal film The Commitments. Appropriately enough among the featured artists was a future Oscar winner, not to mention a couple of future Ivor Novello winners (who would also shift upwards of 20 million copies of their first two albums within the next three years).
Aside from The Frames and The Cranberries (in what was their first T.V. appearance) acts included Blue In Heaven, The 4 Of Us, Shane Mc Gowan, Toasted Heretic Andy White and An Emotional Fish. RTE, January – April 1992
