This powerful two part drama imagines the fallout from a hypothetical nuclear accident at the Sellafield power station whereby wind carries radioactive material over the Irish Sea, affecting the inhabitants of Ireland’s eastern seaboard.
The events of the drama are depicted in documentary style. Initially, the story is told in the style of unfolding news coverage as well as footage captured by a documentary crew: a mixture of news reportage, studio analysis, and camera phone footage from eye-witnesses.
Part One concentrates on the immediate aftermath of the accident. Part Two is set one year after the accident. Directed by David Caffrey, The IFTA nominated drama was based on an original idea of Mark Venner, and written for the screen by Declan Jones and Jonny Ferguson. Originally broadcast over two nights in April, 2006.
