Big Boys Don’t Cry

< Back to Documentaries

The IFTA nominated documentary explored some of the possible reasons for the rise in the occurrences of young male suicide in Ireland. The key question posed was how does the harrowing trend reflect on Irish society and what changes can be made to protect the psychological well-being of our young. Sensitively told with due care to the unique nature of each tragedy, first person accounts mixed with expert testimonies in an effort to provide some much-needed insight.  Originally broadcast on RTE1 in 2001.
